Aireshield Installation Overview

Installing your Aireshield is a straightforward process. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth and effective installation. In most cases no special skills or tools are required beyond basic HVAC access and safety awareness. For more complex installs we can recommend professional installers in your area.

🛠️ Overview Installation Steps

  1. Turn off power for the HVAC unit at the breaker or disconnect switch. Remove the air handler front panel to expose the filter compartment.
  2. Slide out the old filter: While pulling out the old HVAC filter, note the airflow direction.
  3. Slide in the Aireshield: Insert the Aireshield into the slot with the airflow arrow facing the blower.
  4. Route wiring: Use the included harness and route through a drilled grommet hole, or just through the filter rack opening.
  5. Connect wiring: Connect to the EAC port on your control board or use wire nuts to splice 100 or 220V power wires.
  6. Secure wiring: Use wire nuts, zip ties, and sticky pads to organize wires and avoid the blower fan.
  • Step 1 Remove the faceplate cover. Route wires through opening on filter rack.
  • Step 2 Locate the Neutral on the board.
  • Step 3 Connect the brown wire from the wire harness to the neutral (white wires usually, unless labeled differently.)
  • Step 4 Locate and connect the blue wire (from the harness) to the EAC port
  • Step 5 Double check the blue harness wire is connected to the EAC port, and the brown wire is connected to the neutral port on the control board.
  • Step 6 Neaten the slack wire and tape or zip tie the excess harness wires to avoid tangling or interfering with any moving parts.
